Imagine taking a group of young black boys to Spotify headquarters for a careers workshop and it ends with them getting searched by Police on a platform in big London Bridge Station and being accused of stealing phones while waiting for their mentor.
You don't know what that does to you, the mental fatigue and anxiety, everytime you leave your house, you can just feel people judging you, giving you certain nasty looks, assuming your doing things you aren't. Yet when people who resemble them walk, talk and dress the same way its not threatening of course not right?
You remember when Police did everything possible not to harm a man who killed his ex, her boyfriend and then blinded an officer?
Remember they even let a life long drunk/ex footballer have a lil chat with the guy during a stand off?
Yet people like my son, nephews, brothers and friends get pulled over and told the old "we can smell cannabis line" when there is no proof of this, some will then be taken to the station for a strip search where they find… guess what? NOTHING. No one cares about the trauma this causes. No one except people like me & my people. This would never happen like this to people who look like these police officers… my heart breaks everyday.
Overly jaded..
